To Dream

Tomorrow I'm going to write something spectacular!

Simplicity in Words

A writer's misery
in the end becomes his poetry.
-Dennis Birtch

Lager Pains

I dive into this glass of amber delight
and
she offers up no words.
- Dennis Birtch

Drinks

I feel that my muse has left me behind.
The last swallow of a drink that left a wanting taste.
A bartender has said last call.
And I with an empty glass.
- Dennis Birtch.

Whisky Pools

Sometimes it's like looking through shattered glass.
You know you want what you desire
but you also know
it's what caused the cracks to begin with.
- Dennis Birtch

Faces

The world is made up of many types of people.
But, the only two you need to concern yourself with
are those who love you and those who make you stronger.
Sometimes though that line gets a bit fuzzy.
-Dennis Birtch.

The Night Away

Some words are tunes belonging to songs that thought they could affect us.
They didn't know we could always dance.
- Dennis Birtch

Vineyard Thoughts

Forgotten sips of the same wine
can be the of greatest vintage
or the grape juice it always was.
- Dennis Birtch

Work of Narrative

Have you ever read a good book?
Well... that is life.
Just turn the page.
Its called a plot twist.
- Dennis Birtch

Restez

It's an old song that keeps replaying.
Memories dancing on the clefs of a tune.
She means that much to you.
- Dennis Birtch

Our Brunch

Sometimes I feel like a samovar
with out a cup to fill.
Other times I am the empty cup.
Tea flows as words spoken between us.
- Dennis Birtch

Velocity

The distance and the time apart,
are words written just for one.
- Dennis Birtch

Her

Slapped like a child.
Dragging me back.
I can never forget her
forcing me to find the answer.
- Dennis Birtch

Hypnagogia

As she dreamed
I would turn my head
And watch her sleep
Now, I watch her sleep
In my dreams
-Dennis Birtch

Words

Everyone is good with words,
all you really need to do is spend a bit of time finding the right ones.
Might take a fraction of a second or maybe even years,
but when you find them...
they are yours.
-Dennis Birtch
